As part of the church family activities at DPC we run a Ladies Bible Study every fortnight. The aim of the study is to encourage the women in our church to love the scriptures, and to learn to put them into practice in daily life.
"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”
Philippians 1: 9-11
Along with studying the scriptures together comes the opportunity to develop friendships as we pray for one another and spend time getting to know one another.
The Bible Study caters for both the Kormilda congregation and the Bees Creek congregation. As much as we are able, we try to meet in the Palmerston area as a more or less half way spot between the two churches.
Periodically we run coffee and dessert style evenings for the women in the church. These offer the opportunity for a friendly, casual environment to continue to encourage one another.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."Hebrews 10:24-25
They involve some type of devotions along with a speaker or theme to the evening. This is also an ideal opportunity to invite non- Christian friends to a non- threatening environment as we seek to reach out to the lost.
